It was finally showtime at Easterns. Both Pitt and Wisconsin had waltzed through the tournament without much of a challenge one way or the other. Now the two best teams, both by seedings and by results, were meeting in the finals. With the wind at an all-time high, we had no idea what to expect.
Turns out, we should have expected a Hodag blowout because that is exactly what we got. The Hodags jumped out early and jumped out hard on En Sabah Nur and that eventually led to an easy victory. However, this game had more riding on it than a simple Easterns victory. The two teams had put up the VC Showcase Easterns jerseys and it was winner take all in the finals.
The Hodags walked away with the jerseys and a 14-11 victory.

If there is one name in college Ultimate that has become synonymous with success, it is the Wisconsin Hodags. Since the turn of the century, Wisconsin has been to every single UPA Nationals, finishing second or better in five of their ten appearances. However, last season saw Wisconsin miss the finals for the first time in three years. This season, the Hodags have yet to go through a tournament without a loss and have only appeared in a single tournament finals.
Results like these have left many wondering: Is there something wrong with the Hodags?

Wisconsin and Virginia had survived the wind, snow and freezing temperatures to outlast 24 other teams and meet in one of the most prestigious fall tournaments of the year.
Both of these teams finished last season at Nationals and both have serious goals about making it to Madison for Nationals this year. However, only one of the two would emerge as the champion of the fifty-third installment of the Classic City Classic.
